oO wtf this really works... what the hell... anyway, thanks for the tipp, I got a great improvement in speed in every game, especially there:
Super Mario Galaxy: 5-10 fps more ingame, up to 20 in intro
Twilight Princess: I got nearly twice as much fps as before, holy shit... now I can better pass the part in the forest, although I "only" get 35 Fps, it feels nearly playable.
Lets say so... I get more than the same values as with overclocking, but without overclocking my CPU actually...
I gonna test out a lot of other games too... well, maybe the last option in the Nvidia Control Panel may also help... well, I don't know how its name is in english, but in german it is "Übereinstimmender Texture-Clamp" ... it helped a bit (2-5 fps) when I turned it to OpenGl-Specification...
Well, if you don't want your other games to get slow, why don't you define a decent game-setting? you don't have to change the global settings, just switch the tab.
Very good post, if this is really true for everyone and not only for some people, this would be really important! I link this to my signature.
Edit: Well, it seems to help a lot more than I though. For example at Twilight Princess, in Areas like the Village at the beginning and so on, I now get true fullspeed, where I only got 40-50 Fps before... holy shit... it also goes too fast at some parts, but I don't care... thousand times thank you, this is awesome.
