Hi,
I've just compared the Windows and Linux Build of r4800, what was striking were the vast performance differences - while e.g. "Mario Kart - Double Dash" was barely playable with Linux at 640x480, I was able to play it smoothly at 1280x1024 with 8xAA enabled on Windows.
Other games I've tried (Super Mario Sunshine, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Meteroid Prime) showed the same results.
Especially the IL version brought great improvements after some minutes in game - is there an option to use that in Linux too?
In both cases I used the OpenGL Plugin and the latest nvidia 190 driver.
I used Ubuntu 9.10 and Windows 7 (both 64bit)
System: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 (2.13GHz), 6GiB DDR2 Ram, Geforce 9800GT (512MB VRAM)
Options were the same (default options), Dual core mode on.
What may cause those major performance differences?
