Hello,
I was running Dolphin 5.0 (stable) on my MacBook Pro (2015 Retina, 2.9GHz i5, 16GB Ram, macOS Sierra) with no real issues. Since I upgraded to macOS High Sierra I've been unable to get my wiimotes to work with Dolphin. They still connect to the Mac effortlessly via bluetooth, and then work instantly and without issues in OpenEmu, so the problem appears to be with Dolphin.
Using the 5.0 stable build and a number of revisions past that I encounter the following: Remotes are connected to the Mac via bluetooth, open Dolphin Controller settings with remotes blinking in discoverable mode, click Refresh, and I get the spinning rainbow of death. The app freezes and I have to force quit it, the wiimote never rumbles or stops blinking to connect. With newer dev versions the the following occurs: Remotes are connected to the Mac via bluetooth, open Controller settings in Dolphin with wii remotes in discoverable mode, click refresh, and absolutely nothing happens. Click, click, click away and nothing occurs.
I've attempted this using many different builds of the program. I've tried changing the in order in which I connect the devices/start bluetooth, open apps, etc. But nothing changes other than what I described above. It randomly connected and worked just once out of the hundreds of times Ive tried, and the circumstances of that instance was a normal connection process: Open a fresh install of 5.0, turn bluetooth on in system bluetooth panel, hit red button on controller, connect to bluetooth in os bluetooth panel, hit refresh in dolphin settings, and wham, the remote stopped blinked, rumbled, and connected led 1 lit. I was able to use it just fine across multiple games. Shut the computer down for the night, came back, and attempted the same process with no luck since.
An additional note: The wii remote shows up in the drop down of devices for the hybrid/emulated remote settings and the game cube settings, but you cannot map any of the buttons.
I'm not a dev, just a normal dude with moderate technical skills, but if there's anything I can do on my end to help figure this out though I'm willing to try. I know most folks working on this program probably are not on Macs.
