Hey, I just got a 2.53 Core i5 MacBook Pro for college and I've been dying to run Dolphin on it. I've tried on my old computer and it runs very slowly, but it seems to be more compatible than my new computer. =o

When I run anything, no matter what plugin, Dolphin either force closes or the FPS stays at 0 even though the speed percent changes and stuff.

The specifications of the MacBook Pro are here: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/family/macbook_pro?mco=OTY2ODExMA

If someone could give it a look and offer me some tips I'd appreciate it.

(I've tried Bootcamp running Windows 7 x64 and currently x86.)

Thanks!

Does anybody have any idea? I've tried searching everywhere but apparently nobody with Macs want to run Dolphin on their computer.

It may not be much help, but Im also have the same problem.

I had to force dolphin to build in 32bit by commenting out some arch flags.
And when I run a game, I get 0 FPS and 60 VPS

Before I came to compile Dolphin by myself, I was using Shark which ran just fine, but I believe its a windows build in the back-end.

Yeah, I don't understand. Dolphin is having some issue with the graphics card .. which I HOPE is fixed soon in the next build because I'm dying to be able to play Wii games on my MacBook Pro. =]

yup new nVidia chips on mac don't work.use bootcamp.

Checkout my latest project ( it is a program that downloads and compiles dolphin on mac and linux now): http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu-downloader (It's unofficial and maintained by me, not the dolphin dev team)

I used Bootcamp.. this is where I'm getting crashing.

I'm not going to return my Mac and go back to Windows.. that's like taking a step down from my 5 year old computer.

Are the new nVidia graphics chips going to be supported by Dolphin anytime soon?

I'm not on a MBP, but was having problems with my i7 iMac, and this fixed it, so you might give it a try:

Go to the "Plugins" section of the "Preferences window". With "Dolphin OpenGL" selected for Graphics, click the "Config..." button. This will open another window. In advanced display settings, turn on "Use XFB" or "Use Real XFB" or both. (Figure out which one gets you the best performance.)

One of the devs posted a build of r5650 in the wiki comments, which is what I'm running. Its compiled with mac-friendly build options and will save you from installing all the compile tools: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3324639/Dolphin-r5650.dmg

Hope that helps.
