@Test876 - You said something that was blatantly untrue and inflammatory. If you truly believe that only people who are hipsters use OSes other than Windows (ignore all of the government, research, HPC, and web servers running *NIX derivatives or Linux variants) then you're not a troll, just severely misinformed.
Simply because you yourself can't think of a reason to use anything but Windows doesn't mean that no such reasons exist, especially for others. For me, I wanted an OS where every component could be gutted and replaced if I wanted to. KDE lets me modify nearly every aspect of the UI without relying on third-party tools, which is a big reason I switched to Linux full-time in 2008. It's also easier for me to develop software (Slackware comes with a compiler and most of the tools I need with the default install, Windows takes me a good while to setup MinGW plus all the libraries I need). Linux was also my choice for my own custom emulation-only mini PC due to various reasons (everything is easily scriptable, and I need QJoyPad to make it so that no keyboard is required to launch an exit games).
A high market share doesn't mean a product will always fulfill the roles everyone demands of it. Windows doesn't have a 100% market share (for desktops btw, Windows is a minority server OS) for a good reason. I don't believe in a Post-PC world myself, but anyone would do well to note that mobile and tablet computing are rising, and that's not going to change soon. Tablets and phones tends to rely on OpenGL and Linux (Andriod) or UNIX (iOS) more than Windows. If people really do change their habits and replace their usage of Windows-centric desktops in favor of other form factors, those form factors won't have anything to do with MS, more likely than not.
