Luigi's Mansion "L / R" button problem

Bug
Hey there folks,

I haven't seen any else topic talking about this, so, i decided to open my own.

I've been playing Luigi's Mansion on Dolphin, it emulates great, and i don't really bother about the sound problem, but...

In the Options Menu, it says the following controls for the "L / R" buttons:

L - Spits fire, water and ice
R - Use the vacuum-cleaner-ghost-thingy

Okay... BUT... during the game, when i press the key that i set for the "R" button, it does nothing... and the key set for the "L" button, actually works as the VACUUM CLEANER button!

Since it wasn't really a problem for me, i kept playing... until i found the Fire Medallion. Now, when i suck some fire with the vacuum cleaner, a fire meter appear on the bottom of the screen, as you can see on this picture:

http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd148/sonicpalace4/luigi_mansion.jpg (Ps.: It's just me, or it looks kinda... "empty"? No matter how fire ghosts i suck, it stays like this)

Okay, so i realized that... since i use the L button for the vacuum cleaner instead of R, i was supposed to be able to spit fire with R, right? But no.. just... nothing happens. nothing.

So, without spit fire, i can't light the candles, and then, i can't proceed with the game. Oh, boy. =(

I'm actually using the "Dolphin KB/X360pad" pad plugin (the only one that allows me to configure correctly)

I tried with the "nJoy v0.3 by Falcon4ever", as well with the v0.4, but they don't allow me configure correctly, even with a Usb Joystick on there... well, it WORKS, but works poorly... i can't move correctly, i can't use the C-Stick, and also, i tried to random press all the buttons of my joystick...

It has 12 buttons and two analogs, and none of them spit out fire.

I tried to access the URL that shows on the "nJoy v.0.4" plugin configuration screen ( http://www.multigesture.net/ ) but it seems the domain is suspended.

Also, when i try to config the "Dolphin event pad" plugin, the emulator crashes.

My Build is 2745 but i also tried with the lastest one (3089), still the same problem.

So, that's it. I've been trying to solve it by myself but i just couldn't. Does anyone have a good hint for me? Thank you all for reading my thread.

SDL changed a while back, 2600's i believe... try deleting or renaming the current SDL.dll and renaming the SDL1.3.dll to SDL.dll

This seems to cause a lot of problems with certain joysticks. You might find that the nJoy plugins will work then too.

Good luck.

First, thanks for the reply, dude.

Second... Where can i download the SDL1.3.dll? Aside the SDL.dll file, i only see a "SDL (1.2).dll" file. Is it included on a specific build? If yes, which one?

This seems to be unrelated to sdl, btw (happens with x360 pad too)

I didn't realize that x360 pad didn't use SDL.. I'll have to check this out tonight and see if it happens on mine as well. but I live in US, so my disc/rip is NTSC... are you using PAL or NTSC?

Hey, i've done some more research about it, and i think people already mentioned about it here... but there's no one saying if it was solved or not: http://www.dolphin-emu.com/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=149

Is there any way to manually remap the buttons or something? ...Using a recompiler... well, i don't know... it just seems to be something kinda easy to fix... am i wrong?

Yes, i'm using a ISO image from a NTSC disc.

I tried to attach a savestate at this topic to go directly to the point where you already have the fire medallion but it seems the attachment system is not working...

I'll have a look when I get home. if it's only one game that it doesn't work for, that's kinda odd.. but if it's an easy fix, I'm sure I could find it and post it up. But I can't do anything while I'm at work... playing Dolphin through remote desktop doesn't quite work. =(

hopefully I don't have to work too late tonight and I get some time to look at it though.

It could be JIT related bug. Some wrong memory path in nJoy probably too.

Yeah, i understand, don't worry ^__^ Take your time, and thanks again. If you ever need a savestate, screenshot or something, just drop me a PM.

As someone said above... i also don't think it's something specific from nJoy, since it hapens on KB/XBOX360 plugin too.

And i don't like to play with nJoy... the characther only moves on diagonal and i can't configure the buttons.

(Off-topic: Oh, btw, i just level'd your brawler card)

It's JIT then.
