Is it possible to lower graphics to, say 320x240?

Friend's machine is running stuttering at 50% (sometimes lower) on a GC game, making it unplayable.

He doesn't care about graphics, just fluidity of gameplay.

OSX version. His specs = http://i.imgur.com/CBILBiX.png

320x240? What are you talking about? No actual GPU supports that resolution.

Tell him to use latest dev build (you should, too) in order to get more playability. I can´t help further than that since you did not post the machine´s specs.

Which GC game is he trying to play?
Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.

Rig 2: Windows 10 Pro | Intel Core i7-2640M @ 780/2800/3500 MHz | Intel HD 3000 Mobile | 8GB RAM | Dell Latitude 6320.

The game is Super Mario Strikers, the original GC game.

Runs fine on my machine so no worries there.

His specs are :
2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
NVIDEA GeForce 9400M 256MB

I thought dev builds we more experimental than "stable" releases?

Didn't know that about 320x240.

The only other solution I thought would be for him to set the resolution to "window size", shrink the window down, then zoom into the screen, which is an idea I took from here:

Dev builds are indeed experimental, but they got -fast as hell- recently (over 30% speed improvement over 4.0 stable).

Tell him to try that solution you found and report back to see how he did with that. Remember him to use the lowest settings possible and to use latest dev from here: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/

His CPU is too weak for this game . Reducing resolution will not help
Btw , OSX is the worst OS for Dolphin

Damn. It's the CPU then? What if he was running Windows via Bootcamp? Despite CPU would there be a significant speedup?

Windows somehow run the games faster than other OSes, but since it´s a CPU bottleneck the story is almost the same.

Good news! The dev version made a --significant-- speedup!! Game is playable and fluid for him! (still talking OSX)

Did experience some desync in the NetPlay though. :/

Do you have any idea how to setup for netplay and the settings required?
