Ok i lowered my settings and the audio was fine i guess becuase i was not dropping below 60fps and so the emulator was at 100%. But the thing is even with Skip EFB Access from CPU on i have to put my internal resolution down to 1x to get a constant 60fps which is a big decrease in graphical quality from my usual 2x. I can also accomplish this by turning anti-aliasing off but there is no way i am doing that. Is there a setting or something that might let me squease a few more fps out of it? At my usual setting i get a bout 55-60 but it seems even the slightest drop messes with the audio when using LLE. Thanks for all the help so far. Also now that i have tried the emulator and come away impressed, excluding my disastrous attempt at emulating okami, i have ordered a wii motion plus controller and a nunchuk as well as a wireless sensor bar. But i am wondering can i connect the wi remote to my computer via the Bluetooth on my motherboard? and will the motion plus work?

With a 6970, you should be able to take the internal resolution very high. If you've put the antialiasing too high then you won't be able to though. Remember that 4x antialiasing is about the same as 2x internal resolution, 9x is about 3x internal resolution, and 16x is about the same as 4x internal resolution. If you put the antialiasing high without the internal resolution the same as your monitor's then you'll take a performance hit without seeing the benefit.
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional
CPU: Intel i5 4670K @3.4GHz... for now @4.6GHz with a quick and dirty (yet stable) OC. May get faster in a bit before the end of time.
RAM: 16GB (Down from 24 GB after some was given to siblings)
GPU: Radeon Vega 56

I am using the directx9 backend with 4x antialiasing. What do you mean match the internal resolution to my monitors? my monitor is 1920x1080.

So the best is 3xIR for you. The 6970 should handle this easily (you can try to use 4xSSAA, the 6970 has enough power for this afaik).

I use 3 or 4x IR, and 9xAA on a 6950, and that never bottlenecks me. You should be able to take it at least that high.

When i put 3x IR on with 4xAA my frame rate drops to about 53-58fps. What other setting's are you running?

And without 4xSSAA? Do you get FPS drops?

But there not FPS "drops" they are just the fps i constantly run when using those settings. With 3xIR and no AA then yes i run at a near constant 60fps but i loose graphical fidelity from turning off the AA.
@AnyOldName3
Are you talking about what settings you run in mario galaxy 2? are you using LLE?

your gpu is not fast enough if you get more fps with lower settings!
if you get 60fps with 1xIR 0xAA everything is fine
if you get 60fps with 2xIR 0xAA everything is fine
if you get 60fps with 3xIR 0xAA everything is fine
if you get 60fps with 4xIR 0xAA everything is fine
if you get 55fps with 3xIR 4xAA your gpu is bottlenecking
if you get 40fps with 4xIR 4xAA your gpu is bottlenecking

understood?
no way to change that behaviour...
if you want to know why...
study the behaviour of emulators... (they are completly different to normal pc games)
i dont want to explain more.. there are dozens of threads about that stuff... explaining 30min sth to a nonGeek who is asking the samequestion serveral days later
EDIT by neobrain: that pic was kinda annoying..

I'm meaning in every non-mario-galaxy game I own. It would be useless for me to try it for a comparison with my processor. What are you getting with those graphics settings on other games? Either it really is too demanding, or your GPU is clocking itself down to avoid frying itself. I doubt both of those, but can't see what else it could be. Either run GPU Z at the same time to see the temps or try on other games and find out that it is significantly more demanding than every other game ever.
