The only build that allows uses to emulate the wiimote is 3.0-410 by whoever, I got the version from EmuCR and It works fine after figuring out all the settings. I'm able to beat skyward sword 100% with Xbox Controller. The main problem with this emulator build is it doesn't have Save state support and it lacks all the updates that came with 4.0

So can we get a new wii Motionplus emulation build, for us Controller and mouse users? I would do it might self if it was simple enough but I have no idea about Dolphin or who or where this build came from.

Please use the latest dev builds from our official site: https://dolphin-emu.org/

And there is no intention for a new Wii Motion Plus build. That branch had very messy code, and was a user configuration nightmare that, even when configured correctly, got very poor results.

I don't have a Blue Tooth thing like I did on my laptop so I can't use OFFICIAL dolphin builds which lack the Wii motioplus emulation support. If you had an official motionplus build somewhere on the site I'd gladly use it just like I use the latest version for playing Netplay with.

It would probably just be easier to buy a Bluetooth dongle (you can find those under $10 and most of them work good enough for Dolphin) and an official Wiimote…

Defeats the purpose of it being an emulator doesn't it? Why is Wii MotionPlus emulation not supported by official dolphin developers? This is emulator has the most developers in history, so why is this not a thing for 4.0? It shouldn't be too hard to fix the bugs in this Jperson guy's build. Even if the source is junky it's still there, if he created this Wii motionplus Wiimote emulator feature why was it / is it not picked up for new dolphin builds?

This seems like a really popular feature, sad to see it's not continued or supported at the least by the head devs. And if his source is released anywhere could someone link it? If no one else is willing to try to implement this in 4.0 with Save states then I'll try.

Hmm no… not at all. It is just hard to get a good UX with an emulated Wii Motion Plus, not to mention that since they can still be bought, it's a lot of trouble for an inferior result. So far no one has bothered to implement it in 4.0. If you think it is that easy to do (and are able to write the code for it), feel free to try it. Don't forget to submit a pull request Wink

Also, I'm not a dev here, but I'm pretty sure that Dolphin's source has changed a lot between 3.0 and 4.0. And it still changes almost every day. Sometimes, porting a feature from a legacy codebase is even more difficult than writing the whole thing from scratch.

The emulated Wii Motionplus feature is really good actually. I'm able to play the game 100% after some time configuring my controller and the settings. And by 100% I mean I'm able to strum every single thread on the harp, Draw circles and rotate my sword around, obtain skyward charge quickly, everything that is problematic with this game specifically I've managed to configure all into 1 setting without having to go back and change things.

And remember, even 4.0 is over two years old! The development builds have come a looooong way since then!

That's already the issue. You have to configure it manually and imo that hasn't been easy or intuitive… And it won't be easy or even possible to achieve that with most controllers.

I was a little curious so I cloned the repo. From 3.0 to master, there are 11,714 commits, "10084 files changed, 955935 insertions(+), 1147356 deletions(-)" (according to git). From 4.0 to master, git reports 8745 files changed, 724538 insertions(+), 604453 deletions(-). I knew that almost everything has changed from 3.0 to 4.0, and even 4.0..master has a lot of changes. But those numbers are quite impressive!
