Guys, I'm at a loss here, I can't find anyone else online with this problem. My logitech f710 works just fine in all my other games through steam, but does NOTHING in dolphin. Dolphin recognizes that I have the controller connected, but doesn't respond to the inputs when I am configuring it. Any help or directions to a thread I missed would be greatly appreciated.

You've just found me with the same problem.
My Logitech F710 also works fine in all other games but does nothing in Dolphin. In my case, Dolphin also recognises that I have the controller connected and it is able to see the pads input changing state in the controller config dialog. It just doesn't work for any Dolphin games. This regression has occurred in both Windows and in Linux. 12-09-2015, 01:28 PM
I've only recently tried Dolphin again after a long time.
So it stopped working sometime between the current version and whatever the version was back in October 2010 The constant segfaults, abortions and uncaught exceptions are kind of new too since last I used Dolphin. But I do appreciate a lot can happen in 5 years. Sorry I'm not much more help at the moment other than confirming the OP's problem. 12-09-2015, 02:52 PM
OK fixed the controller not functioning by deleting Dolphin's entire config directory and starting afresh.
I now have working controller on all games. All game's performance is awful and jittery - not sure what is causing both video and audio to stutter so badly, but I'll leave that for another post. Ksci that might be something you can try - close down Dolphin, delete Dolphin's config directory and start with a fresh set of configs. 12-10-2015, 12:13 AM

My hardware hasn't changed nor have the Gamecube/Wii ROMs changed.
Are you saying the latest Dolphin is now using some sub-optimal code re-write that causes it to perform badly? Unless the choppiness can be worked around in config settings then this would also be a regression 12-10-2015, 07:34 AM
Aah yes, reading through the many forum posts about it, performance regression is introduced with the 4.0 re-write.
The consensus is to install an old 3.5 version to be able to play games like before. 12-10-2015, 07:28 PM
Aaw 3.5 not compatible with gcc-4.9 and requires the entire system be built with old gcc due to GCC's incompatible CXX ABI changes.
Pre-compiled binary also fails as links against ancient shared libs that are no longer present. Guess the project's sufficiently killed off for me to just shut the hell up now Thanks anyway guys, cya! |
