loading wii games from external hd ?

It depends on the bus speed, if its usb 3.0 or firewire it should work normally with little or no hiccups but its still recommended you play from the computers native drive

Dolphin doesn't support wbfs format , you have to convert all to iso (Using Wii backup manager)
Also i put all of my wii games on external HDD 5400rpm , there is no difference in speed . The main drive is a SSD though
