If so, many thanks guys Didn't know if it was just my doing something wrong (that's usually the case) so I figured I'd ask first before getting the devs involved. I'll update and compile later. Awesome. (10-18-2012, 09:44 PM)Zee530 Wrote: Or 3.0 The point is to try the new FPS logging on newer revisions to see how those results compare to 3.0. It's my hypothesis that we came up with numbers like "you need a 4.4GHz Sandy Bridge or better for SMG on LLE" because we based our experience on revisions after 3.0. Likewise, I believe that there is a very noticable difference between HLE and LLE on newer revisions after 3.0 as well. There's no way I can get constant fullspeed on SMG2 with LLE on the latest revs, but the lowest I saw in 3.0 was like 66 FPS. I just need the data now. Again, thanks to the devs 10-19-2012, 06:46 AM
Hm,I dont see much of a difference between 3.0 and 3.0-776..only about 2 fps in LLE and 1 fps in HLE.
There is HUGE difference between any 3.0 version and older ones though... 10-19-2012, 06:49 AM
Post your results as screenshot sometime. I've been busy with work so you'll have to wait for the weekend to see my tests. Use the FPS logging tool. So far though, there's a very noticable difference between the two in my tests.

So which games are we going to continue the benchmark with in the latest revs with FPS logging?
Did anyone make a .dtm file so everyone can benchmark a game as accurately as possible? 10-19-2012, 07:06 AM
.dtm files are Dolphin's "movies". They record button input over a series of frames + some save state info iirc, so when you play it, the results are reproducible exactly, every time. It's as accurate as you can get when testing things like this.

Wait,if they just run the game prerecorded on your system, then it will run how it would usually run at your system, not how it ran for the person who made the .dtm file, right ?

The .dtm movie files are just input recorded at specific times (e.g. specific game frames) plus a savestate. If I recorded a movie and you played it back, you won't see how it ran on my system speed-wise since our hardware, OS, and drivers are all different. What you will get is a 1:1 reproduction of any actions I did during the recording (running, jumping, attacking). When you play this movie on your system, you will see how fast your computer and Dolphin can recreate all of the actions I did, but that performance will be entirely dependent on your own hardware and settings.

So, the recorded .dtm file will have the same framerate as the emulator did on whatever hardware? is that correct? if i dont get fullspeed, can i convert the .dtm files to whatever framerate i want to get a fullspeed?
