I'm running an AMD fx-8350 with the Asus Mars 4GB 760X2 with my VG278H with Nvidia 3D Vision 2.

We should put together a list of compatible emulators and common issues.

Please post your specs, what emulators and games you've tried and your opinion on how well they work.

If you've had issues, please tell us about them and the fixes you've used to get past them if you've managed it.

I'm probably going to take the information I'm gathering and put it all on a wiki so it's easier for people in the steroscopic scene to get going when it comes to 3D emulation.

I'll omit Dolphin because we all know it supports 3D.

It supports some N64 games too, and that's the only way to play N64 games in 3D.

PPSSPP works with 3D Vision. You have to use the DX9 renderer and add ppsspp.exe to the Prototype profile, with Nvidia Inspector.

IIRC, it doesn't remember the convergence setting. But every game needs different convergence, so it doesn't matter that much.

The downside with that emulator in general is that I can't get vsync to work properly.

I hope Citra will support 3D someday. The only hardware renderer it has for now uses OpenGL, though.

When we're going to add rating system for 3D compatibility per-game (to wiki or whatnot), my idea is to have three stars defined by 0 to 4:

0 - 000 - Unset
1 - *00 - Unplayable, best not to enable 3D
3 - **0 - Some may look broken, but may be playable
4 - *** - Excellent or has some issue with 3D but definitely playable

When "2" is set, the three star icons will be replaced with two letters: "2D", for games that won't display 3D.

But first, we need to know what's the ideal 3D for measuring convergence per game. Should the farthest objects (I.E. background) appear to look really far or somewhat near? How far? And the character that you play as, shouldn't go past the monitor and cross your eyes? Should we ignore objects that went too close to camera? Should we make 3D look like real world size?

I think it's important to know that 3D view will vary based on size of 3D monitors, if I'm not mistaken.

Then we'll rate per game based on the ideal 3D convergence we're going to use.

When you'd like to test the game with 3D enabled and disabled (to look for 3D issues), this can be done simultaneously with two instances of Dolphin on two monitors. There should be same clone of Dolphin profiles, only except that the first profile should be configured for 3D on 3D monitor and have another one run without 3D on secondary monitor. Then use netplay with your computer's local IP address.

I can help you rate 3D compatibility and recommended convergence per game. My specs is in my sig. VG278HE is 27" 3D Vision monitor.

EDIT: This is for Dolphin only. I'm not looking at other emulators though.

Since that Dolphin can play N64 through VC (WAD files) and I've read on the internet that it's possible to inject some N64 games into WAD and run it. But Banjo-Kazooie and any other RareWare games will not work. *sigh* Anyhow to play these games in stereoscopic 3D? I've heard something about Pj64 and iZ3D and alike to enable stereoscopic 3D for Nintendo 64 games but I'm bit behind on news about it. Is it still possible on latest development build of Project 64?

D3D9 is not required for 3D Vision support! Dolphin works with 3D Vision and other 3D techniques in OpenGL and D3D11.

Having major issues getting 3D Vision working with Dolphin, very disappointing. Huh Huh Huh Sad Sad Sad Angry

Sorry for the late response, but I was talking about PPSSPP. It has two backends: DX9 or OpenGL (3D Vision only works with the DX9 backend). And in Dolphin's case, even if it has many 3D modes in both backends, 3D Vision only works with DirectX 11. I wish 3D Vision 2 monitors worked with the other modes, but they don't, except for anaglyph mode.

For PC games, there are some wrappers for OpenGL games to translate them to DirectX, but it works with only a few games. In general, if a game is announced to use OpenGL, 3D Vision users are 99% doomed.
