thanks for the fast answer!
Can I ask you wich old revision you use, that has not this black box in right corner?

edit: I tried revision 4717 by Xtreme2damax and everytime i start the game the checkbox "Optimze Quantizers" gets unchecked.
thats really strange...

Use the game properties instead(right click on the game and click on properties, check optimize quantizers + enable idle skip), and set optimize quantizers separately. I think 4717 should make the deal. I would have to look up from which rev on ector(i think around 4900~ plus/minus 50) changed the quantize optimizers algorithm and disabled the option. Nonetheless 4717 should be fine.
Just dont forget to use the savestat hack, else u will just get a black map under D3D(do a savestate once before u click OK in the map selecting screen, thats it, u dont have to load it).
C2D 2.4Ghz; 4GB; Geforce 9700M; Win7/X64.

hmmm maybe it is probably your settings you could try and check out the game discussion forum and read the thread on mario kart wii and try the thread makers options or (this may take a while but it usually works) READ THE ENTIRE THREAD FOR SOLUTIONS....
