Need some help in this matter. I don't know if it's an faulty adapter or if there are some other issue.

dmesg shows this when the adapter is plugged in

usb 2-1.8: new full-speed USB device number 3 using ehci-pci
usb 2-1.8: New USB device found, idVendor=057e, idProduct=0337
usb 2-1.8: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
usb 2-1.8: Product: WUP-028
usb 2-1.8: Manufacturer: Nintendo
usb 2-1.8: SerialNumber: 15/07/2014

But when I plugin in a controller in the adapter nothing happens. No new devices are detected and nothing in udev either

lsusb displayes the adapter but again no sign of any controller
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 057e:0337 Nintendo Co., Ltd

usb-devices shows the following

T:  Bus=02 Lev=02 Prnt=02 Port=07 Cnt=01 Dev#=  3 Spd=12  MxCh= 0
D:  Ver= 2.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs=  1
P:  Vendor=057e ProdID=0337 Rev=01.00
S:  Manufacturer=Nintendo
S:  Product=WUP-028
S:  SerialNumber=15/07/2014
C:  #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=e0 MxPwr=500mA
I:  If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 2 Cls=03(HID  ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=usbhid

So the question is, should a new device occur for each controller inserted in the adapter?
Could someone with a working setup show how lsusb and usb-devices identify the adapter/controllers.

Any help would be appriciated
