Happy to hear that this fixed the issue for you! Maybe we should add a note regarding how to uninstall usbdk reliably on the wiki.
LIBUSB_ERROR_NOT_FOUND driving me nuts!

Thanks again! Is that something I can do? I would also add a strong warning against installing UsbDk without using Zadig to save others the hassle.

Edit Reason: typo

After I was able to get this to work and posted here, I played Super Mario Galaxy 2 for about an hour and found that the wiimote would start behaving erratically after a while and could only be corrected by turning it off and then pressing any button again to reconnect.
I am considering returning this adapter. This pretty much narrows down the list of adapters that work to maybe 5 (besides the official Wii BT module), most of which are not readily available to buy as a dongle. I think I will have to do this the hard way and try to wire a module from eBay, although it seems a bit daunting.

A final note on this: switching the adapter from a USB 3.0 to a USB 2.0 port in my PC mostly fixed the stability issue. I played a full hour last night and only once did the controller go crazy on me, getting stuck in endless vibration. I disconnected the battery, reinstalled it, pressed a button and was good to go again. This was a different kind of disconnection than the frequent ones I was getting with the adapter on a USB 3.0 port and frankly, an improvement.

I made a similar thread some weeks ago. Once you install usbdk, you are wasted.
I had to use some usbdk debug to really uninstall it. Problem is I have some wii usb mics to try and Im not sure if they need usbdk. 11-06-2017, 10:35 AM
Well, going through Zadig, everything seems like it can be reverted by rolling back drivers. If that fails, another thing to try is to uninstall the driver, checking the box for "delete drivers", then letting windows reinstall driver from scratch.

Yes, zadig drivers can be uninstalled without problems. usbdk drivers are the problem.
Check if you can turn off wiimote and turn on again during game. If you cant or wont reconnect, usbdk is still there. 11-06-2017, 10:49 PM
I can turn the wiimote and reconnect it on the press of a button. I went through a lot of pain with those drivers after I decided to install them directly through the .msi file you can download from here. I was only able to resolve the problem by following a tip from leolam which directed me to the uninstallation instructions in that github page. There is a "UsbDkController" file that is created in Program Files, which can be used to successfully uninstall the pesky drivers reliably.

Quote:Problem is I have some wii usb mics to try and Im not sure if they need usbdk. Microphones require working isochronous transfers, which are only supported with usbdk or on Linux. The latter is recommended given that even with usbdk things still don't work perfectly on Windows. 11-07-2017, 09:43 AM
Thanks @leo. I thought installing libusbk on mic could make it work.
If only usbdk can make it work, I ll wait until it`s less painfull to deal with it. |
