Hi, I've got a couple questions. So I've recently downloaded Dolphin r6800, and set it up according to the beginner's guides... I run Windwaker at roughly 60% anywhere that has vision of the ocean. Is this normal?

Specs:

CPU - AMD Athlon X2 7550 ~2.5GHz (Dual Core)

RAM - 4 GB of DDR2 memory

OS - Vista Home Premium, 32 bit.

Video - NVidia GeForce 9400 GT - 1 GB VRAM

So if there are any specific settings to increase speed in Windwaker, I'd love to know. =d

efb to texture and turn off audio throttle, accurate texture cache, emulate format changes, cpu efb access, efb scaled copy.

Changing those settings didn't really help at all. Still lags very badly anywhere with a view of the water.

Download one of my builds in my sig and try again. If that doesn't work try lowering the efb scale in the graphic settings to 1x and see what happens. Your graphic card ain't powerful and a high efb scale or set to integral with a hi res monitor can kill performance. Your 32 bit windows don't help either.

Well Link to the Past, with your latest build I get about an 8-12% speedup. =D What do you mean my video card isn't all that powerful, though? It had the highest processing speed and VRAM in the store I went to. O.o Actually scratch that, with the latest revision on the main page, 6836, I have an extra 8-10%. =D

Amount of vdram doesn't matter. You either have enough or you don't. If you have enough then having more won't make a difference since it isn't actually being used for anything. Throughput is what matters. If the highest end video card they had at that store really was a 9400gt then damn...that store needs to be restocked. You need at least a 9600gt for internal resolutions higher than native to ensure a cpu bottleneck.
