I've tried to create some miis for a mariokart wii safefile, but while i tried that, i recognized that i am not able enter a channel from the wii menu, i can only play channels from the dolphin menu by using the WAD.
Is this an issue with my settings or does this feature simply not exist?
I use the newest versions of the menu and the channels.

The channel and the wii menu have to be from the same region for the channel to start.

Use bootmii to make a nand dump of your Wii's nand. Extract the nand into files. Move the files to the User/Wii folder. Replace sysconf file with the one from the Dolphin archive.

Here's some detailed steps: https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/nand-usage-guide/ and https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-howto-nand-dumping-a-comprehensive-guide
