Question
This is my first time posting, and I have a problem that I just cant work out on my own. I download, and unzip the latest development version of dolphin, and click "Dolphin.exe" and it loads for a few seconds, then nothing shows up. I want to get at least version 4.0-593 to solve the Wind Waker screen tearing issues. If I get the latest "stable" version (4.0.2) it works perfectly. It's not just with any development version, it's with ANY development version. I love Wind Waker and this screen tearing issue is kind of making it unplayable for now.

Specs:
Windows 7 64x
Nvidia GTX 660
Intel i5 4570 3.20 GHz
8gb of RAM

Need anything else just ask.

334.89

There are later versions. Well, I will try updating and get back to you.

I updated my drivers....nothing.

I tried getting the x86 version, and Dolphin.exe technically launched, but I can't start any games, it's just a black screen and Dolphin crashes when I try to exit the emulation ( Probably because I have 64 bit Windows 7. )

I have all the latest Windows updates and the latest Nvidia drivers. My version of Windows is Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit. ( I don't know if this info will help, but might as well supply it. )

No that isn't why, x86 (aka 32-bit) will run on 64-bit

The latest versions of NVIDIA drivers crash on OpenGL in most versions of dolphin; the default backend was moved to OpenGL not that long ago. For now, until it's fixed on one end or the other, you need to either use D3D or check "ignore format changes" in OpenGL.

I already have D3D enabled, and that option checked.

So does this mean I can't do anything about it?

To be honest, this is pretty frustrating..... Can I do anything about this?

It's obvious the problem is on your end; as if this were affecting more people we'd have a ton of complaints. Make sure you have the VS2013 runtime installed and whatnot; that's all I can think of that would be different between 4.02 and the modern development builds.

I downloaded and installed VS2013, nothing. If it helps, I could run development builds up to around 4.0 -300's. Maybe that's when they made OpenGl default?

I do agree it's obviously on my end, but can you think of ANYTHING else different between 4.0.2 and current dev builds?

Maybe I could install older Nvidia drivers?
