I usually get the absolute latest version in hopes that the map will have some speedups. I wanted to let you know that the last 2 updates seem to actually have a bit more lag and slowdown compared to the other versions. I'm not sure what the cause is but wanted to let u know incase u wanted to look into it = )

Post post build numbers, the last one that works fine, and the 1st one that is bad.

The lastest 2 versions now are 4.0-5323 and 4.0-5319, one change for android and one for post processing shaders. I doubt those affect anything for 99.9% of people.

yes it was those. Just letting the devs know because maybe something was messed up from the fixes. It's quite noticeable compared to the previous versions.

Why is the map so important? Seriously I almost never look at it at all in either Prime or Prime 2.

Well, it might not be important for you but for many it is. Partly because the map didn't lag in older versions, and partly because when it is needed, it takes an incredible amount of time to use it. Audio turns to garbage, it drops down to about 10 fps, etc etc.

finding out what causes it for that game may fix other titles that lag as well, for example F-Zero for GC.

OK fair enough, but to my knowledge the map have always been slow. Even back in the days when I was using r3972 it was slow.

I can't recall what build it was, but the general gameplay was very slow, while the map retained full speed. it may have been pre-3.5 i don't really remember

Well Dolphin have come a long way since those days and the emulation is getting more and more accurate.
The map will be fullspeed some day though.

Again, this is due to our line-width shader getting smashed by the map screens; I reported it to Armada to see if it could be optimized for this situation, but proper emulation may be the issue here.

I just wanted to add a "me too" to this, I skipped updating my dolphin build for about 10 days and this issue popped up in MP1. Since you seem to know what's going on I'll leave you be, but I would by happy to bisect revisions if there is interest in seeing where the change occurred.

Thanks as always!
