So far i've oc'd my i7 950 to 4.1 GHZ and get around 23-30 fps. (H/T off) Using the settings on the wiki listed in the game thread, does anyone playing this game have a consistent 30 fps in this city? If so, how far did you have to take your cpu?

Last Story is one of the most demanding games, are you using HLE?

This is a good performance for this game

No

Even a better CPU than yours will have frame drops in this game

Last story cannot be one of the most demanding games, there is no way. SM Galaxy, Twilight Princess and a few others are so much harder to run constantly, especially because you have to use LLE.
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Processor/CPU: Intel Core I7 930 @ 4.2 GHZ
Video Card/GPU: nVidia MSI GTX 660ti PE
Memory/RAM: Corsair Dominator 6GB 1600 MHZ
Dolphin Revision Currently Using: Latest

The Last Story is the most demanding game ; SMG 1&2 / Twilight Princess + LLE are not even close , those 2 games will run full speed on i5 2500k @ 4.5GHz / i5 3570k @ 4.2GHz all the time. This is confirmed by alot of Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge users

@OP: With your current CPU, you have no chance to run this game @ fullspeed. You need a Core i5-3570k as admin89 said.

He never said I needed an i5 though, he was addressing someone else talking about two other games running at full speed. But i'm also not concerned with other processors, only how far I should take the one I have.

I'm also wondering, how far I can take this cpu for dolphin. With prime95 stressing it, I get around 75c load temps. However with dolphin running TLS in lazulis, the temps are in the mid-high 50's each core. So would I be able to go to 4.4+ just for dolphin and be ok? Or is there something i'm missing.

To match 3rd gen i5 3570k @ 4.2GHz , you must overclock 1st gen i5 / i7 950 @ 5.0GHz+ Tongue
Please note that i5 3570k and i7 3770k perform the same speed on Dolphin
