If we want to nail it down to specifics, if you have your 2500k and I have the 3920xm, we are both generally going to be able to play the same games and do the same amount of stuff, generally. That was it. In that case, my laptop can keep up and do whatever you're going to do with a desktop, generally. So back to the original argument, there is no reason a laptop cannot play games as a desktop can in_most_cases.
