Turn off auto gpu to nvidia apply re open dolphin you can also turn on gpu activity as icon to see if its on.. 08-25-2014, 03:10 PM
I have in the control panel set to use my nivdia card and changed the performance in the guide to what it said and dolphin just doesn't come up in my gpu activity.

Quote:So I shouldn't use my nvidia card at all?Dolphin Intel HD 4600 is good enough for Dolphin as long as you don't use insane resolution with Anti-aliasing . 2x->2.5x Internal Resolution , no AA , 16x AF should be ok with it . Integrated GPU is built inside CPU . The maximum power consumption of your i7 and Intel HD 4600 is 47W The power consumption of GTX 860M is about 60W !!! . Additional Wattage will boil your laptop PC gaming PC game don't care much about CPU power . If you want to use Nvidia GTX 860M , just underclock your CPU down to 1.2GHz to lower power consumption of CPU . I promise you won't notice any performance drop Quote: Should I run throttlestop at around 33?If you don't hit 85 degree Celsius or higher temp then it's safe to do so Quote:Disassemble your laptop , remove OEM thermal compound on both CPU and GPU and reapply IC D7 carat . It will require some skills to do that though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFztLNvjchA Laptop: Mini PC :: (08-25-2014, 03:43 PM)admin89 Wrote:Quote:So I shouldn't use my nvidia card at all?Dolphin You do realize a gaming laptop is designed to accommodate the extra heat right.... 80 watts that card gets to about 140 +under load but who games on a gaming laptop off battery? Boiling the laptop might be a bit drastic.. You do realize Dolphin 100 percent cpu load is no different then anything else running 100 percent cpu load.. Fyi unless u know what you are doing i would not recommend disassembling it... Also note anyone calming thermal paste is going to drop your temps 5-10 c for just applying it is lieing or have 0 clue in what there talking about.. First its designed to fill in the micro imperfections between the cpu and the heat sync to pull heat away so its not a magic decrease temps by applying magic goo... if they actually machined and polished cpu's and heat syncs like they used to thermal paste would not even be needed as you want to get as much metal to metal transfer as you can to pull it away.. Also note You can never cool your cpu by air lower then the ambient temperature around it... Unless this new paste can break laws of thermal dynamics its impossible.
It's not gaming laptop , it's a multi-media laptop . Please read a whole thread again

Even the admin/mod of this forum did this and saw improvement by their own eyes . Please read a whole thread again I want to see where at the same ambient temperature you managed to make your cpu 5c lower then the air around the processor granted 1-2 degrees fine but not 5-10 laws of thermal dynamics don't allow it that 1-2 degrees is more or less temperature error.. Once again you cannot cool the cpu by air lower then the ambient temperature that is around it. so if your case is 36c your processor is going to ile about 37 38c... You might see some improvement on effeminacy especially i dono if you clean the dust out of your machine.. Not trolling you im just trying to figure out where your getting this info... Or what the reasoning behind what your saying... 08-25-2014, 04:54 PM
