When configuring a gamecube controller in dolphin it sets the threshold to 90 for L and R analog by default. However this doesn't seem to mirror the way the L and R work normally on a regular gamecube. For example in Smash Brothers Melee, the lighter you press L and R, the bigger but weaker your shield is and the harder you press it the smaller and more resistant it is. Does anyone know what the proper threshold is for these buttons to mirror the actual gamecube controllers?
My PC Specs:

i3770K
Radeon HD6450K (I don't game at all)
ASRock Extreme 4
32GB Corsair Vengeance CL9 RAM
128GB Crucial M4 SSD

I would like to know this as well (for Project M though, not melee).

I'm guessing everyone just leaves the threshold at 90?

That "threshold" setting configures how far one must pull their "trigger" before simulating a real gamecube controller's "click" of fully pulling the triggers.
(There is an additional physical button in the GC controller's triggers, you can hear the click)
Setting the value to something around 90% is sane.
