Kirby's Epic Yarn Controls

How do you set the controls for this game with an Xbox 360 controller? I configured it to emulated wiimote, sideways, and set the controls up, down, left, right. etc. but Kirby WILL NOT MOVE/WALK left or right at all....But all the equipment, parachute, and whip work fine. The start/pause button works fine. I just can't get the character to move. I'm stuck at the castle with a picture of the wii arrows with the up button highlighted in red, and I have the control stick set up in configuration but the up button will not work to go in the door either. Help please and thank you.
