Hi guys, i have this problem with kirby's epic yarn, i have an i7 860 oc 3.7 ghz, 8 gb, and a 5850 and i have huge slowdowns in the level when he trasform in tank. I'm using the last revisions, 3.00 844 new ax hle and 3.0 872. i have tried several settings but nothing works!

There's a revision that can play this game at full speed maybe ?

Thank for any help!

thanks for the answer, i'm trying now, let see what's happen ^^

well even with your settings in the last revision the slowdows are the same, there's no difference at all, and with my setting (2x native resolution, 9x ssaa, i barely touch 40 % of my gpu) it's not gpu related, but something related to cpu, i can't believe that my cpu can't run this game at full speed...

Anyway try now official 3.0

i have tried now the official revision....nothing....same slowdowns with my settings and yours...Sad

Whoaa, 9xSSAA?
Try setting that down, your gpu most likely can't take it

my gpu is at 40% with 9x ssaa but even 4 or nothing don't change anything, in the same point there are always the same slowdowns with every settings!

I am no GPU expert so I can only go on what I have observed when I play Dolphin which is admittedly limited. GPU load and AA are correlated but (at least with my setup) the load isn't increased significantly. I can play WW, Tales of Symphonia, Kirby Yarn, and more with AA on and my GPU load is pretty close as with AA off. I think it may be more closely related to the amount of video memory you have. Try it with no AA enabled and see if it does indeed help. And for the record a 5850 is not all that powerful.

I have a 6970 and I can't pull off 9x AA in most games, although to be fair it probably does depend on the IR.

Anyways, just my 2 cents Smile

Yeah, don't listen to what it says your GPU load is, your using way too much AA :p
This is assuming you don't have a good GPU, what is your GPU?

i can play many games with 2x internal resolution or more and 9x ssaa without any problem, it's totally depend what kind of game i'm playing, but this is not the case, the slowdows are not gpu dependant! They are the same if i play the game at 640x480 without any enchance. And in the specific point, when he transform in a tank and start to shoot to enemies. I have read that old revision don't have this problem, so i'm trying to find out what kind of revision is needed. Thanks for the help about my 5850 Tongue

This has been known to happen in Dolphin as far back as r6269. Going back that far, you'll be using unsupported Dolphin builds. They might solve this slowdown, but you might bring along other problems that have since been solved; there's no guarantee that you'll even get a better overall experience. Nothing's stopping you from trying though. I couldn't find anything about a specific revision that didn't have the slowdown.

About the slowdown, does the game drop down to a specific framerate, e.g. from 60 to 30? What does the game speed (represented as a percentage) look like during the slowdown. If it's something like 100% when the FPS drops, the game was probably designed to drop its framerate at that point. A lot of games do that to better use the Wii's resources. Haven't dumped this game yet myself, so I can't confirm if this is they case with Epic Yarn or not.
