In the in-game options, selecting the screen ratio to 16:9 results in a squished 4:3 picture rather than a 16:9 picture. Why isn't auto aspect ratio working for this game?

Majority of GameCube games don't support 16:9 so Auto set the screen ratio to 4:3 no matter what. Dolphin can't detect when you are using the 16:9 option in a GameCube game so you to set it manually in the video panel.
From France with love.

No, Dolphin does actually try to detect when a GameCube game is running in 16:9. It's a heuristic, so it's not guaranteed to work, but it works for most games that support 16:9. |
