Noob Gravedig Alert (sorry)

I too have encountered this in 4.0.2. I noted right away that only game control input is not working, but other program specific commands still work. It was almost as if what's running the game window has lost keyboard focus. For whatever reason, toggling fullscreen twice (Command-F for me) fixes it every time.

I'm having the same issue on my system. No controls at all seem to be working, and the fullscreen toggle trick hasn't worked for me either. Really wish I could make better use of Dolphin, but that's a tall order when I can't execute any controls in game! Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm actually having the same problem as well on my 2014 rMBP, the keyboard will not work with Pac Man World 2.

Had the same problem, I fixed it by trying all the different configurations in the GCPad settings. One of them will work.

can anyone please provide an instructional to make this work? I am going on vacation next week and would love to unwind on some gamecube classics but still cant get dolphin to recognize any keyboard function.

1. I have tried the standard controller

2. have tried just the internal keyboard for the input

spent hrs on youtube trying to find assistance. Using a main build shouldnt be so hard to make this work? can anyone please help? using 4.02.25

nevermind, I just downloaded a new build and the problem went away without me doing anything different. i knew i wasnt crazy! lol

i have the same issue :S .. but, i got dolphin 2 weeks ago, im running it on a osx 10.9.5 and the keyboard was working great, no problem AT ALL, today i opened and tried to play and the keyboard is not working (literally stoped working from one day to another, i played last night), today just opened dolphin, opened the game, hit a key, and nothing ... i double checked the configuration and everything and is the same as before when it was working. also tried to change the keys in the GCPAD tab and when i tried to hit "w" to set it as "up", not even that worked, dolphin is not recong the keyboard at all

any thoughts?

thanks in advance

In the controller tab, on the dropdown to choose the input, make sure the keyboard is selected

I too couldn't get the mac keyboard working with the latest dolphin emulator.

Dolphin 4.0-9146 is broken with mac keyboard input, no matter how many different settings I tried. I was only able to assign things as "button 1" by clicking my trackpad.

The old Dolphin 4.0 worked for me. I followed https://youtu.be/zOXGUDdp_Mg?t=3m26s to figure out the correct settings.

Under gamecube controller setting:

Keyboard/0/Apple Internal Keyboard / Trackpad

Make sure port 1 says Standard Controller
=
Config -> Gamecube -> Port 1 -> Standard controller.

I also can't seem to use my keyboard on Mac OS X 10.11.3. Tried ever input under the configurations for "Keyboard" and "Standard Controller."

However, it seems this is an issue with newer versions of OS X. Previous versions of Dolphin detected my keyboard — but no longer do. Hopefully, this can be resolved in a new version but unfortunately, this will affect the ability to use previous versions of Dolphin that run better with certain games.

Also, I'm trying to play a Wii game. So the settings described for GameCube above might not apply to me. Or do they?

Unless someone can find some miracle fix we are overlooking in config?

NVM: Got this to work for Wii by using "Emulated Wii remote" and setting to "Keyboard" for input.

Yet, the problem still persists for Gamecube games.
