No, you don't need any plugins. Keyboards should work fine without having to install anything.

Standard Controller is the correct one. (Keyboard is for when you want to emulate one of those GameCube controllers that had a keyboard in the middle.)

What game are you trying to play?

The GameCube version?

It would be helpful if you could post a screenshot of the window that shows up when you press Configure next to the controller.

Oh, OS X... Setting up the keyboard is extra tricky there. I don't remember exactly how it works, but it's something like... there are four devices in the Device dropdown, and only one of them works? I hope someone else can respond better than me!

You have to use the Quartz device IIRC.

That only works in recent development builds, not 5.0. But yes, that might be the best solution.

I am facing the same issue, on a macbook pro.

I see 5 inputs when configuring the Standard Controller called "Input/0/.." to "Input/3/..." plus "Keyboard/0/Apple Internal Keyboard".

None of these appear to work.

I attempted to see if any input was detected, and if I try to customize any input, I can apparently get "Click 0" with the trackpad, but nothing with the keyboard.

The Quartz thingy in development builds works correctly.
