Keyboard Configuration

Hey, I'm having some trouble getting the keyboard to work with dolphin. I tried changing the plugins and configs and I have all the keys mapped, but when I open SSBM, and get the corrupted memory error message, it doesn't let me move the cursor or choose an option. Basically the keyboard doesn't respond to the keys that have been mapped. Any ideas?

I have Dolphin 2.0, I don't see anything more recent.
