Keyboard and Mouse

How can i configure these to work on the gamecube. I get onto an option but the mouse won't work and neither will the the keyboard.

Controllers, port 1 (set to standard controller), configure, change device to DInput/#/Keyboard/mouse. Then configure the controls how you want them.
