Roughly every 20 to 30 minutes, the emulator crashes. At the time I could be doing something quite demanding, like flying around, or I could have just clicked on a save point. It's running at full speed all the time, so it's not like it's chugging along and then giving up the ghost. I'm using r7719 because that was recommended to play Skyward Sword until a new version fixes the graphical errors without using the hack that dramatically impacts performance.

My CPU is a Phenom II X4 955 BE 3.2ghz, my graphics card is a HD 5860, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, running the 64-bit exe on Windows 7. Below is what I assume is the crash log:

Quote:Unhandled Exception
Code: 0xC0000005
Call stack info:
ntdll!0x774D32D0 : RtlFreeHeap

Unhandled Exception
Code: 0xC0000005
Call stack info:

Unhandled Exception
Code: 0xC0000005
Call stack info:
Dolphin!0x011B0BE0 : ?

Unhandled Exception
Code: 0xC0000005
Call stack info:
Dolphin!0x0114DE9E : ?

Here are the various config files if you want to check out how it's set up.

Use the latest revision. This issue should be fixed in the latest revision.

The latest version is the one that people are having problems with, the flickering lines over the environment. Older revisions don't have that problem but seem to be quite unstable with the game, at least for me.

I'm having this problem too. As the revision suggested for this game is 7719 from August, I imagine there are lots of improvements we aren't using because the functionality has since been changed and prevents SS from working properly. I've seen several people reference it as r7719M rather than just r7719, is there a difference as I can't find a download for r7719M? Also, would it be possible to modify the archived 7719 code to handle this exception as later revisions apparently do, as I assume reverting the changes from the latest release is not an option?

The m means modified. Any build modified in any way will have an m at the end of its number.

The developers really aren't interested in creating a custom revision for one game. They are only interested in fixing problems in the current revision, and for good reason.

I had a feeling that's what the M meant, could that mean it's been modified to handle the exception? Where could i find it to try?

I realize that's not the proper process of development and of course it would be best to fix the latest version, but handling one exception should be an easy fix and a lot of people are playing this game, quite a few of whom seem to be having this problem, among others. Surely it's a lot more work from the latest revision as it has so many more problems for this game? A quick fix would be much appreciated (if 7719m doesn't already have it)

No. It was probably just compiled by someone on the forum using ICC instead of the autocompilation script running on the server for the main site.

The development discussion section of the forum.

They've been down this road a million times before with various major releases. The answer has always been no and always will be no. This is the reason that you can play most of your games fine today without needing a million different custom revisions for different games.

I think I found it here It seems to be a custom build for xenoblade, will try it with SS later tonight.

@NaturalViolence - I accept your point, but one quick fix is hardly branching the code, it would just be temporary until it can be incorporated into the latest build. There's no need to get snarky.

7719m seems to work well, hasn't crashed today, although haven't played as long.
