New to these boards so apologies if this should be in another thread. I just got myself a JXD S7800 Android gaming tablet, and am trying to get Dolphin working on it. I get to pick the game, and a small message appears saying which file I selected. After that, the screen goes black and just takes me back to the game selection menu.

Has anyone else experienced this? Am I doing something wrong? Is the JXD even good enough to run it? I've seen some sites claim it works, so hoping I can use this to relive my GC gaming days.

I'm stuck now. Help me experts!   Blush

It's not great. I'm not even sure it support the hardware functions needed to run Dolphin.
Try the latest apk build from here and see if it even opens a game: https://buildbot.dolphin-emu.org/builders/release-android

Sorry to say,  neither model of the JXD has OpenGL ES 3.0 support in the GPU.  Unfortunately that's a non starter for running dolphin with the OpenGL backend.  You can try software if you're really bored and you want to waste 40 minutes booting to the menu of a game,  but otherwise there's nothing that can be done.

Sad that's a shame...thanks for the info. Bright side, I still have tons of N64 and Gameboy games to get through. Cool

You can also go grab PPSSPP and run PSP games on it.

PPSSPP runs rather terribly without ES3.0.  At least in my experience

It's a Mali 400, which I don't remember having any issue with before.

Nah. The Note 2 was beating most Qualcomm SoCs when it came down to raw performance. Even the Adreno 330.
