I'm using 5.0-10474, I dumped a copy of JD2 Best Buy edition a while back for Redump and decided to try playing it today, but as it was in split 2gb parts from Cleanrip I pointed Wii Backup Manager at the SD2Y41.part0.iso and told it to convert to a .WBFS as I was getting a "Can't open BigFile" error when I was just running the part0.iso. It created a 3.15gb file, so I don't think I converted it wrong. However, the WBFS version gives me the exact same error. The screenshot button in Dolphin doesn't work on this screen for some reason.

Is this just a bad dump sorry Redump or is something about the Best Buy edition different enough to make it fail? Or am I just a complete noob with Wii Backup Manager?

You probably converted it wrong. Try using the Verify tab of the game properties and see if it tells you that the disc image is incomplete.

By the way, if you're curious, the reason that the screenshot button doesn't work is because it doesn't trigger until the game renders another frame, but the game isn't rendering more frames once it's stuck at that error message.

Would this be bad enough to cause that error?

Yes. According to those errors, about 150 MB of necessary data is missing (or corrupted, but I don't think that's the case here). That seems like roughly the amount of data that could be in the third and final ISO part, so maybe the converter didn't include that part.

The verify tab actually has a more clearly worded error message that it's able to give you for this problem, but I forgot that that error message won't show up if you're using WBFS or CISO... I'll have to see if I can fix that in the future.

Correction, it's actually more like 2 and a half megabyte of data. I was misremembering what it meant by "block".

I have this game dumped and can confirm it works fine. So yeah, you messed something during the merge of the split parts...

I assumed that Wii Backup Manager could handle split isos, or at least make a smaller .wbfs than the .iso you put in it, but it looks like it can't. I got a file joiner from the internet and used that to join both parts, which caused the game to boot but have many visual errors.
But first, in Dolphin's Verify tab:

On just the loading screen: (check this one at full res)

And in game (2x IR):

1x IR didn't help much, although a few lines did disappear. https://imgur.com/a/PjvMLmF
I'm guessing my dump is corrupt? The game looks fine when played off the disc on my Wii U.

edit: oh wait the wiki mentions the line bug, mbc said "it works fine" so I assumed they meant there were no issues like that, so is everything correct? (or at least as correct as it can get right now)

Those screenshots of the game don't mean that there is anything with your dump, but your screenshot of the verify tab does. Perhaps the game will work unless you try to play a specific song that's stored at the end of the disc. I'm assuming the ISO is smaller than 4.38 GiB somehow? If it's 4.00 GiB, you've missed joining the final part.

No clue what's at the end of the disc, but I did find something broken: the right and center "Contest Winners".

I also checked my old Redump database contribution and noticed that the checksums that Cleanrip gave me were different from the ones Dolphin gave me, not sure why that is...

This is a ancient bug that seems to affect mostly NVIDIA users. Running the game at 1x IR with no anti-aliasing and 1x anisotropic filtering seems to help mitigate this problem (the lines won't be completely gone but are heavily reduced). Since the game isn't too demanding, running Dolphin with the integrated GPU (if your CPU has one) is also doable to prevent the line artifacts...
