I got a question: "%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java" -Xmx1024m -Xss2m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -XX:ReservedCodeCacheSize=64m -Djava.library.path=lib/windows-amd64 -jar bin/jpcsp.jar %* I guess this is the line you talked about rpglord, but what did you change here? Should it look something like this? "%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java" -Xmx4096m -Xss2m -XX:MaxPermSize=1024m -XX:ReservedCodeCacheSize=1024m -Djava.library.path=lib/windows-amd64 -jar bin/jpcsp.jar %* = 6GB like you said. EDIT: Also rpglord, enable decoding in CLUT is needed for Symphony of the Night otherwise the menus are somewhat garbled black and I can't play a game like that just because it makes the image quality sharper. And if you look at my screenshots I have posted, the image quality isn't exactly ugly right. (12-07-2012, 02:59 AM)Duke Nukem Wrote: Similiar, only I put -XX:MaxPermSize=2048m instead of -XX:MaxPermSize=1024m, but I guess 1gb is fine too. I didn't increase -XX:ReservedCodeCacheSize I left it at default. Never saw any game which needs that increased. I posted about issue and dev figured out what it is, and will probably fix it sometimes in the future http://www.emunewz.net/forum/showthread.php?tid=92187 12-07-2012, 04:39 AM
Hmm OK, thanks for the explanation.
I'm not too familiar yet with all of Jpcsp's settings so I take your word for it. But with it enabled the glitches I talked about in Symphony disappeared so I'm a happy camper. I play at 3x resize because 1x is too small if you play a couple of meters from the TV screen. As for the memory thing, I think I gonna go with 2048m, 2048m and 512m but I'm gonna keep experimenting as time goes on. And with r2902 the cutscenes in Lunar Silver Star Harmony is fixed, the only thing left is the text getting cut out sometimes. Things are really great right now. 12-07-2012, 04:41 PM

Well the game is complete now and I'm glad the game was beatable from start to finish without any serious errors.
Also one thing all should know about Symphony of the Night is that there is no chance in hell ever getting to level 99 with Alucard without spending insanely amount of hours into farming because even the Final Guardians at the end of the game only gives you 1 EXP after a certain level. The level system sucks really bad in this game and it's easier leveling up the familiars in the inverted chapel with the duplicator + power of sire method on the sword enemy with shields. In, out, in, out, in, out gaining exp so fast for the familiars. Only takes about an hour getting all 7 familiars to level 99. There was one thing though and it was the borders on the side (the ones you get to choose from the main game settings). There is this code for making SOTN full screen without those ugly borders but I only got it to work partially at the Konami logo. hyperspeed you got the game, could you test this out for me and see what result you're getting. I'm guessing you're on a NTSC-U copy of the game maybe? Anyway, Japanese version: _S ULJM-05287 _G Akumajou Dracula X Chronicle _C0 SOTN - Full Screen Patch (By Dark_AleX) _L 0xE006FFF0 0x00133888 _L 0x10113A74 0x000001E0 _L 0x10118C10 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011AD38 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011AE38 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011AE54 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011C6E0 0x000001E0 American version: _S ULUS-10277 _G Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles _C0 SOTN - Full Screen Patch (By Dark_AleX) _L 0xE006FFF0 0x001336AC _L 0x10113A74 0x000001E0 _L 0x10118C10 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011AD38 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011AE38 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011AE54 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011C6E0 0x000001E0 Just for the heck of it try both, I just want to know if it works for you or not.
The ultimate challenge in this game: All enemies with all drop items (in your enemy gallery)

The Giant Skeleton had three actually, a Turquoise but it got replaced with the Ring of Varda later after you beaten the game. Easy enemies to miss are usually Dodo Bird in the inverted entrance, the skull of Yorick (not the body obviously) at the inverted castle keep and the Mudman in the boss fight with Lesser Demon in Long Library although he doesn't drop anything. 12-07-2012, 11:00 PM

I found those codes in the cwcheater (cheat.db)
Try it, since your code is different from the my ULKS-46155 _C0 SoTN - Full Screen Patch _L 0x10113A74 0x000001E0 _L 0x10118C10 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011AD38 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011AE38 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011AE54 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011C6E0 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011C6E0 ULUS-10277 _C0 SoTN - Full Screen Patch _L 0x10113A74 0x000001E0 _L 0x10118C10 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011AD38 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011AE38 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011AE54 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011C6E0 0x000001E0 _L 0x1011C6E0 0 The code is the same for both NTSC-J and NTSC-U It works in my PSP 3001 and in JPCSP r2893 x64 too, but it strech the screen , i prefer a code to put a "black border" on the side :p

Thanks for your testing and findings hyperspeed. Getting a stretched screen was exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately it didn't work for me (I tried your codes)
It's no big deal, better to have a 100% working game then a broken one with working codes. |
