@Duke Nukem i believe that mono ATRAC3PLUS Autoplay assistant tool will fix your problem, it fixes many or all games that doesn't has voice, but you will need buy a license of Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio, the plugin doesn't work with the trial version (at least not for me)

I also like jpcsp a lot and post on jpcsp forum, help users, report bugs to only active developer - gid15.
I am kinda suprised that jpcsp has pretty much only one dev, since its such good emulator.
Why doesnt more people help out ? I would if I knew how Smile
Do people really dislike java, or maybe people just dont know about this emulator ?

BTW, Duke Nukem, you have several settings wrong, you shouldn't disable fonts ( use debug fonts ) that can mess up text in games, also enable decoding in CLUT will make some graphics look ugly ( it will disable filtering )

Great minds think alike. Wink

It's great that a very functional emulator 7th gen handheld was made with Java (some people thought it'd be too slow) but I simply don't like coding in that language as a programmer. As a just regular user, it's an alright technology, though Java GUIs look terrible 90% of the time. JPCSP is still awesome, don't get me wrong Big Grin

I guess I should post some screenshots as well. I've actually been waiting to play JPCSP seriously until the winter (playing Skies of Arcadia atm), but it's almost time.

Here are some tips for people starting out, since it has steep learning curve, much harder to figure out then for example Dolphin:

-First of all, additional program called Sonic Stage from Sony needs to be installed or there wont be sound in a lot of games.
Some games need even more then this, they need Sound Forge from Sony and that one isnt free.
Fortunatelly, about 95% of games will work fine with only Sonic Stage

-Option "Saving GE screen to textures" should always be enabled, because its equal to dolphin's Internal Resolution.
It makes games render at higher resolution then native psp resolution, probably your desktop resolution or maybe some fixed high resolution, who knows Smile
Like I said, steep learning curve..who would guess that option has anything to do with internal resolution, right ?

-Anisotropic filtering should be also enabled in emulator's options

-Fonts should be copied from real psp into flash0 folder. Jpcsp cant provide these fonts, because its illegal. Replacement fonts are provided, and they work fine most of the time, but some games have problems with it.

-Some games need more memory then default 1gb, java options xmx and XX:maxpermsize should be increased in .bat file which starts the emulator, but only advisable on 64 bit version

If anybody has any more questions, they can ask here or on jpcsp forum Smile

Thanks for your explanations rpglord. Is it safe to set 2 maybe 3 GB in the .bat file?

As for my progress with Symphony of the Night I'm almost 100% done. Thanks to the luck mode code X-X!V''Q Alucard starts out with 99 Luck plus a Lapis Lazuli for extra 20 Luck so item farming isn't that bad. Heck got a Crisseagrim on my second Schmoo.

Besides Crisseagrim I would say 2 throwable Vandal Swords is my second favorite weapons, the special attack is outstanding.

As for the emulator being in Java, I have nothing against that. It plays the games and that's all I care about.

EDIT:

I read that thread hyperspeed and it looks like it's too much hassle just to hear the same Japanese voices I have always heard before. I'm satisfied with just SonicStage installed to get proper sound and music.

It depends how much memory you have. I have 8 gb and have set 4gb for xmx and 2gb for other one ( they add up jpcsp can use up to 6gb set up like that ).
Never set more then actual memory you have.

Me too. Smile

@Duke Nukem, did you or anyone know how to complete the map in that huge rectangle (on the 2nd map), where you can get the "Force of Echo" Tongue

I also have 8GB so I do as you did.

As for the map it's easy, first Super Jump then transform into Wolf form and it gets completed. A kinda awkward way doing it but it's the only way. It's worse in the Saturn version though since Wolf can't swim there.
