since the joycons from the switch uses bluetooth its possible to play wii and gamecube games with the joycons but there are some problems with it

1. motion control doesn't work so if you're gonna play mario kart then i suggest using the gamecube conrtoller

2. the sticks are super sensitive

When somebody implements support for it.

In all honesty, historically most of the regular developers have been against controller specific support in Dolphin. The USB Wii U GC adapter was a bit of an exception because you can literally just pass that one through and the emulated console handles it natively.

Things like custom drivers for the joycons, steam controller, and various other 3rd party controllers doesn't really have much place in the code base because it's just another niche thing to maintain. If evdev/xinput gave them a way to expose their gyros, then dolphin could use it without any fuss. Unfortunately that's not possible.
