Speaking of RPGs with good plots, I've been thinking of replaying Xenoblade again lately. Xenoblade X was disappointing (not bad, just disappointing), but I can replay the original over and over.

I played xenoblade on my 3ds, I don't think I can stand to play it again with the existence of the wii version.

Now I want to see what each version would look like in Citra (in the future) and Dolphin I was doing a replay of XBC in Dolphin, had 40+ hours on it and tons of quests finished. A while ago, I upgraded my OS, and I backed up everything except my GC and Wii saves. I got 20+ hours on a new save, but still... 08-30-2016, 03:27 PM
I'm the kind of person who values portability over quality, so actually my 3DS save is much more complete than my Wii one (all extra skill trees, weapons, etc.). At some point I really should do a playthrough on the Wii version and get all that stuff. It would also be a good opportunity to use Bighead's excellent texture pack.

Just finished Bravely Second (finally, got that game in April). Pretty good game, felt more like a continuation than a new and improved sequel, which is fine by me, as I don't think there's a great deal that needed to be changed, gameplay-wise. Dropped like 50 hours into it.
I also realized Dragon Quest VIII came out last weekend, but I'm going to hold off until I can finish Dragon Warrior III 09-22-2016, 11:12 AM
@Shonumi how did the ending for the game go? Did it end with a multi-loop boss grind like the first? I really enjoyed Bravely Default, but the ending was just too bleh for me to get through...

@MaJoR - I think they learned their lesson. There's no long repeat segments. The game does a neat trick where it acts like everything's going to loop over, but to break the loop all you have to do is press START to trigger a Bravely Second attack. The game tricks you into thinking you've started a New Game+, but just press START during the opening battle with the game's Big Bad, and then the story avoids any looping. Although, if you somehow missed that you're supposed to use Bravely Second (and there are some very big hints, so it's your own fault...) you could theoretically end up replaying the entire game again (but then again, those were some pretty big hints). If you use an FAQ anyway, there's no way you could mess up that badly...
So no, no looping. I will say that the bosses don't seem as hard. I mean, with all the abilities they give in you Bravely Second (you can get almost all of the old jobs from Bravely Default + new ones specific to this game), you can basically make yourself invincible. I beat the final boss on Hard and I didn't get KO'd once. I guess that's just me being great at every game I play |
