it wont let me set any of my keys and when I run the iso it plays but the keys it automatically set to don't work

If that doesn't work, post pictures of your GC pad setup, and tell us what game you're trying to play.

when I try to set my controls It beeps but doest change anything even with an empty control
the games im trying to play are fire emblem path of radiance and pokemon colleseum
I cant attach a screen shot cause all I have is open office

and im already using version4.02

Screenshot the entire screen (with the print screen button on your keyboard) and then paste it into Microsoft paint, crop out the excess stuff, and then upload it to an image hosting site (like Imgur) and attach the link here.

Version 4.0.2 was released about a year ago now. The latest version as of this writing is 4.0-4065. It is more stable, accurate, and faster than 4.0.2 due to the 4000+ changes in the past year.

I downloaded the latest dolphin and controls still wont set I have no way of sending you the picture of the control setup I checked all my apps and I put it on open office word but it said on this site the format wasn't supported. but it just looks like the normal one anyways

Microsoft paint is default installed in all Windows.
If you're on Windows 7, click on the start button, and in the search box type in "paint". Microsoft paint should show up.
If you're on Windows 8/8.2, in the Charms bar search, type in paint. Microsoft paint should show up.

See the problem is that what you think is normal could very well be wrong. So pictures are the best way to show us what's going on

Ok, see how the device dropdown box is empty? Click on that box and select the keyboard. That's your issue
