I just notice a Harvest Moon Magical Melody hack added to the newest release, so I decided to give it a try... and nothing. The game doesn't work with it turned on. I'm sure these do work for some people, but for some reason, these hacks also don't work very well for others. I just thought I should point this out.
It seems everyone's computer behaves differently to these hacks.

harvest moon MM works wonderful with early 33xx.
i played it with 3329 for example -> no hacks needed, high speed and all working. 06-25-2009, 06:43 AM
The game's been working since the 2xxx versions. I figured a hack added to the emulator would actually improve performance, but it caused the game to completely not work instead.
Oh, and where can I find 3329? even though the speed is decent, it's still a little slow when you're outside. If 3329 can improve that, that would be great. 06-25-2009, 03:14 PM
Emm... I already said that it should be enabled after you started the game. That means after you are on the start a new game and load choice screen, because the hack sometimes made the earlier screen blacked out (it's still working though, you just need to push the button until it loaded to the opening movie).
FYI, I'm using Windows Vista 32bit with Nvidia graphic card when testing it. 06-25-2009, 05:14 PM

Oh, you made the hack? I don't recall any documentation with the emulator, but I probably overlooked that. Plus, I was always under the impression that it's bad to suddenly turn something on especially with an unstable emulator. I have Windows XP 32 bit with an nvidia card. I'll try it again to see if there's any difference. what is the hack suppose to do, because the game runs fine without it. Edit - I just tried it, it still give black screen. I started the game, then turned on the hack. 06-27-2009, 03:41 AM
Well, there is no documentation for it, I just post it on this forum with the info. But last time I tried it was okay to turn on the hack from the start.
The hack is used to show the missing background of the map on the menu screen. I think this isn't needed anymore on the latest SVN... |
