I believe I have heard that Dolphin seems to have problems running on windows 8/8.1, and you should download the latest development builds as they are the fastest right now

That's why I'm running it in Windows 7 compatibility mode. I've been playing for roughly 35 minutes straight without any crashes so far! OpenGL and Dsound were probably the fix. 07-13-2014, 04:32 PM

Windows 8.1 user here from more than an year and Dolphin always worked flawlessly (even very old builds), without needing any compatibility setting
