For the life of me, I cannot get the BBA to work when attempting to connect to the SchtServ PSO private server on Win 10. I'm using the most recent build of Dolphin. I followed the Dolphin wiki instructions for installing and setting up the adapter, and the SchtServ instructions for configuring my game settings. Here's a list of all of the things I've tried to get this to work:
If I don't use a static IP somewhere, then I get an error 15 in PSO (no IP address assigned by DHCP). If I use a static IP in the game, or set a static IP to the TAP adapter in Windows' settings, then the game times out connecting to the DNS server (yes, before you ask, I'm using the correct DNS settings; they've been quintuple checked).
The only thing I can think of that is complicating this is that I'm behind a pi-hole ad blocker, which is doing my DHCP assignments (instead of my router). But, I can't figure out why that would matter because every other device on my network gets DHCP assignments normally.
Does anyone have any way I can troubleshoot this??
- Bridged my Ethernet and the TAP adapter
- Shared my internet from the Ethernet adapter
- Set a static IP in the PSO game settings
- Set a static IP in the TAP adapter settings
- Set a static IP for the BBA MAC address in my DHCP settings
- Set a static IP for the TAP adapter in the TAP adapter settings
- Set a static IP for the bridge in the bridge settings
- Set a static IP via DHCP by assigning a MAC address to the TAP adapter
