So I know that this is an issue that seems to come up every few months or so, but every solution that I've found hasn't worked. Whenever I'm playing a Wii game (specifically Metroid Prime Trilogy right now), my Wii remote would occasionally disconnect. Sometimes it will do it almost instantly after booting; other times it will last about 5-10 minutes before disconnecting.
Whenever it starts disconnecting, it's always related to something specific, and every time that specific situation occurs after reconnecting, it would disconnect again. The only way to get it to stop is by completely restarting Dolphin. Said "situations" include but are not limited to:
Whenever it's about to start doing it, I notice that it starts getting laggy for a few seconds before it finally fails. This is an issue that I don't seem to have when I tried using my old Nyko off-brand-mote, but Dolphin can't see the Nunchuck due to its off-brand-ness. Some other things I've already tried (in no particular order):
I should note that I have it currently set to Emulate the Wii's Bluetooth adapter with a Real Wii Remote. I tried setting up the Passthrough, but my dongle isn't supported by it, even when attempting to force it. I have three ideas on what it might be: bad wiimote, inadequate dongle, or both; however, both of those cost money and rather a trip to the store or waiting for it to come in the mail. There's also no guarantee that this is the issue. I also still have my old, not-working Wii with a functional Bluetooth, so taking it apart and turning it into a USB dongle is also an option.
Before I go down any of those paths, though; I'm hoping that the solution is something a bit simpler that I just didn't think of and had issues finding myself online. Hence the post: wondering if anybody has some advice or has a similar issue.
Whenever it starts disconnecting, it's always related to something specific, and every time that specific situation occurs after reconnecting, it would disconnect again. The only way to get it to stop is by completely restarting Dolphin. Said "situations" include but are not limited to:
- Pressing the "-" button (for some reason it hasn't done it when pressing the "+"...yet).
- Pressing the "1" button (similar situation as above where it hasn't done it with the "2" button).
- It attempts to vibrate.
- It attempts to send sound to the Wiimote.

This is an issue that I don't seem to have when I tried using my old Nyko off-brand-mote, but Dolphin can't see the Nunchuck due to its off-brand-ness. Some other things I've already tried (in no particular order):
- Reinstalling Dolphin 5.0-12195.
- Setting Dolphin to run as an administrator.
- Turning off Continuous Scanning.
- Disabling Speaker Data.
- Turning off Wiimote sound (not just muting it).
- Whitelisting it in the USB Passthrough Devices. Honestly knew this one likely wouldn't work, but I was trying about anything.
- Moving the USB dongle to a different port.
