dx9 and dx10 are seperate and are maintained individually by microsoft. Therefore, updating one will not overwrite or replace another.

Thanks for all of the help; I had no idea that you could have more versions of DX installed...but yeah, I'll try all of this when I get home.

Well I installed 9.0c and lo and behold everything worked! Although some of the crashes I've had thus far have been disappointing, I'm very satisfied with how it runs, and I guess I can only be patient with the Dolphin team to get the compatibility up with all of the games; I suppose I'll move onto ripping another game.

So your NTSC version of Brawl worked? I thought only the PAL version worked.
