First off I'm completely aware that Hyrule Field in ZTP (later in the game) is very taxing for Dolphin at this time, and that most machines aren't going to be able to run it at full speed. But when searching the forum about it, I saw lots of posts implying that, with a pretty fast CPU, the area could be played at full speed.
So I'm just wondering if that really is possible as of now? I'm running an i5-3570k @ 4.2 GHz with AMD Radeon HD 5770 (drivers are up to date), and speed in most areas of Hyrule Field averages around 78% of full. Settings:
(All the game-specific settings are at their defaults, including the enabled ZTP hack.) I tried HLE audio, which sped things up to almost full, but sound was predictably glitchy and the tendency to have the background music hang on a single note is worse than playing at a slower speed, IMO. Also tried LLE on its own thread, which sped things up about 5%, but it tends to freeze during transitions from one area to another. I also tried the JITIL compiler, but after several attempts I couldn't make it out of the spring in Kakariko Village before it froze, so I'm not sure if it improved Hyrule Field or not.
Is this about the best that I should expect at this time with this hardware? (Not complaining or anything if it is -- I just want to know if there's anything more I can tweak.)
EDIT: Didn't realize my profile specs weren't showing, but this is on Windows 7 with Dolphin 3.5 x64.
