My kingdom for users to stop explaining things they know nothing about (And are continuously wrong about).

Why do we need ubershader at all for Vulkan? As far as I remember, I was told that one of the big advantages of Vulkan are the SPIR-V binary shaders. So the compilation shall be infinite fast.

PC shaders are not the same as Wii shaders. You have to convert Wii shaders to PC shaders for them to be usable in Dolphin, and that either causes shader compilation stutter, makes you wait when launching a game for shaders to compile, or requires you to use ubershaders.

I think degasus was joking.

There is no reason to read this reply but sometimes people make misguided statements on the Internet.

OpenGL getting less driver support is true… on Windows desktops, because Microsoft pushed DirectX hard and don't support OpenGL directly themselves, so the vast majority of Windows games use it instead of OpenGL.

DX12 is also similar, but unique in its own ways, and only compatible with Windows 10, so it's mostly used only with mainstream titles that are windows only (also removed from dolphin a while back).

Most mainstream titles are Windows only, and many use game engines that support multiple graphics APIs, so there's little reason for them not to use DX12 on Windows, it's just better supported.

All this is kinda irrelevant to Dolphin though, Dolphin is not your typical game.

Also, as said, DirectX 12 is Windows 10 only, and many Windows-only games still support Windows 7 at least. So even for those titles, DirectX 12 is still irrelevant for many games. Only Xbox anywhere games could use it, and that's a Microsoft feature anyway...
