Wiiscrubber makes smaller isos or more compressible?

It allows you to browse the Wii disk like a folder, and delete stuff to save space. If there is a lot of expendable data (such as hours of pre-rendered cut-scenes) then it can save you a lot of space, however, normally, you'll just end up breaking something.

We can't compress Wii disks too much as the whole disk is encrypted, so to 7zip etc the whole thing looks like data, even blank areas. The only real way to compress the disk images is to decrypt the disk and then compress it, which .wbfs kind of does. Nothing makes the .isos more compressable than this AFAIK.

I use Wiiscrubber and GC-Tool to wipe the garbage bytes in the iso so that the compression is better. After that I either 7-zip the iso or use Dolphin's .gcz so that I can still play it. Some games don't go down by much (like SSBB) but others (like Animal Crossing) fall dramatically in file size. The iso for Animal Crossing is 1.4GB like every other GC game, but the game when .gcz'd is only 20.8MB.

The real reason that I want wbfs is because I have them on my wii. In Pc I just test them if they run dramatically better (like skyward sword). If these don't I keep them in wii only. But someday that I will find the settings or proper revision is out I have to do again the same process again and again for many individual tests. For example ZElda TP took me one year to find proper revision and I've done this many times because the lack of space. I own 20 wii games and 6 gamecube and the process to change type is taking so much time and disk space.

If you ever find a way or time please add it.

It seems to have been added recently but yeah it does. But with Dolphin 3.0 for example it doesn't work Big Grin

Thank for the built. I need 3.0 but if sports resort is working the same with one of them its ok I'll try tomorrow.

A built for Wii Last story I need I'm going to buy this next month for sure. If you have any recommended I do not know yet maybe one from here

If wbfs work I will be able to enjoy both on wii and tv set when it is available without wasting disk space and money.

I don't know what you mean by what "built" to use for The Last Story. If you mean what build of Dolphin (e.g. 3.0 or 3.0-766) use 3.0. If you mean what computer, you will need a Z77 mobo + i5 3570K @ 4.2 GHz minimum to run it with LLE, which as far as I know is required (or maybe for this game LLE wasn't required but RAM was, idk).

Your current computer will not be able to run that game very well at all.

I'm talking for dolphin revision.

Yes I know. The same others told me for Zelda TP but now runs in 100% speed with current revisions same laptop. Only some cutscene's soundtrack is missing.

I believe you, I do not disagree but maybe it meens that from a year from now things maybe change. Maybe now there it is not much space of the emulator improvement as it was previously but who really knows?

Wii does not sell there that much.. I'm waiting for the game to come but I was waiting battalion wars for over a year and I cancelled it, that's for example. Maybe I get the game a year later and things change until then....
