well i'd say that is pretty dumb since dolphin already has 8k capabilities but still no higher than 60 but I guess it's pretty hard to emulated a game that has pre-rendered parts to it

You do realize that changing a game's FPS without affecting the speed requires you to alter the game logic/code? It's not something Dolphin can be do across many games (like the widescreen hack) in a generic fashion. You need stuff like per-game cheats. I think I've only seen a 120 FPS cheat for SSBM.
