Nowadays though, if given the choice of playing the same game on both a PC and a console, I would pick my PC since it can drive better resolutions/fps/etc 02-09-2015, 04:26 AM

Can I ask what exactly you are referring to with "egregious" hacks. I thought VC emulation was supposed to be pretty solid, otherwise Dolphin wouldn't be able to emulate those games so well. 02-09-2015, 05:19 AM
They're game specific emulators that use horrible hacks (Pokemon Puzzle League literally jumps out of emulation, plays wii format video files, then jumps back into emulation) to make the games run fast enough. Because Nintendo has the source code, of course they could do this and get away with it with good results.

Wonder why (ps3 is linux based) lol The current-gen consoles often struggle with 1080p30, or in the Xbox One's case, sometimes even 900p30. Meanwhile, many high-quality PC builds are able to push 1080p120 or 1440p60 and still have headroom to spare. I know you're probably trolling, though. You didn't get my point, xbox 360 plays new games just fine after how many years ? 7 ? while if your having a pc you need to upgrade already after 7 years. I know PC can play games faster, but at wat costs ? Those consoles can handle games fine after how many years ? while my pc begs for a upgrade. 02-10-2015, 04:32 AM
So the PS3 came out in 2006, so an Intel Q6600 is about the equivalent time frame, and is still supported by many games as the minimum needed to run games. The Nvidia Gefore 8000 series was also around the 2006 time frame, and is a minimum for several games still today.

But don't look how those games run on those specs if you use medium or high settings. |
