degasus has created https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/4104, which improves the speed a lot according to JMC. Thanks for the information, konpie

I get full speed in that PR (aside from pretty common shader generation stuff.) Looks like Silent Hill IS fixed now.

From France with love.

The game is still very demanding, but now it isn't impossible. Good Haswells and higher should hit full speed most of the time.
The speed is good now (even better than the real thing since it's 60fps even with the flashlight ON) but the graphics are still far from ideal. The shadow effects still glitch out and the snow particles are completely broken.
But it's an improvement though. I hope one day it gets 100% fixed, this is the only game that keeps my Wii plugged in.
Snow particles are fine for me, and the shadow is just fine as long as you stay on 1x IR (EFB Copy Region issue; you can't upscale it.)
Edit: I should say, I think they are fine? I bought this game for use in Dolphin, and haven't done much playing on console. 08-29-2016, 07:37 PM

Playing at 1x IR fixes the glitching. However, snow particles are still broken. Normally you should see them all the time around you and they even cast little shadows if you light them up with you flashlight. Instead, they only appear for a second every now and then and disappear. At least that's how it looks on my setup. I have a GTX 960 and using version 5.0.445 |
